Title: COMPLETED THANKS Ann DARLEY - possible 1881 Census or death ?
Post by: Soureau on Friday 10 October 08 17:30 BST (UK)
Good afternoon,

Ann DARLEY, widow, aged 58, was living at 20 Rosegarth Street in Boston in 1871, together with:

- Frederick (son) 29 Pedlar
- Joseph (son) 24  Labourer
- Walter (son) 23  Labourer
- William (son) 20  Labourer

Cannot find her trace in 1881, and cannot find a possible death record after 1871 either.

Any help would be appreciated !

Nick

1881
Anne 70 Lab's widow, Wigtoft
Joseph 35 Lab, Boston
Walter 33 Lab, Boston

On LDS 1881, search for Agnes DORLEY (image shows Anne)

That's probably one combination I hadn't tried ! You live and learn.

Thanks for finding that for me.

Geoff,

Would you be kind enough to have a look at 1891 and 1901 for me please ?

I have tried every combination possible, and the only death I can find where the dates correspond and the name could be, is for:

Ann DARBY, aged 98 4thQ 1907 in Grimsby.

If this is right, Agnes/Ann DORLEY/DARLEY should appear again in the next 2 Census returns !

I would be extremely grateful.

No ... she appears in 1901 (as DARBY) as born in Essex.

 I see this one

Deaths Sep 1883
DARLEY    Jane    70    Boston    7a   236

I'm not sure I can see her on a census (but haven't looked too hard)

Thanks for trying anyway.

It was worth a flyer !

The Jane Darley doesn't seem to be one of the Jane's in the line I'm following. The dates don't fit by some way; one of them died in 1895 and the other in 1936......................

Thanks very much for your time and trouble on my behalf.

Nick
