Hi Debbi,
John isn't at Gabrial Court on the 1861. I'ts getting too late ( or early in the morning) for me to trawl all of St Peters now. I will do it tomorow - in the meantime if you can think of anywhere else he might be just post a message for me. The 1861 is not indexed.
Regards
Darcy

Dear Darcy,
Thank you for your efforts.I am sorry to say I have nothing else on him.
Maybe if you know he is the grandfather of one Archibald Alexander Leach you might feel spurred on for tomorrows trawling! ;D
Best Wishes

Wow!!,

Hi Debbi, :)
not good news I'm afraid - I couldn't find John Leach in St Peter's.
Some parts are beautifully transcribed and others are just about illegible due to either tortured, or faded writing.
I tried my best to find him - went through it twice but no luck.
Sorry Debbi
Darcy ;)
-
Dear Darcy,
thank you for your efforts Darcy.
I will have to think where to look next now.
Or maybe find the baptism?
Happy hunting
Debbi ;D

Debbi,
If you get any further information feel free to ask me to look for John again.

His father George Leach - Millwright
Her father Henry Leaf - Sawyer
Neither could write.
Witnesses are John Thomas and Henry Jones Baker - they also signed the previous entry so probably not related.

Ann Bristow nee Leach death possibly 1885 age 69 reg. Bristol March quarter 6a page 15

John was the illegitimate son of Ann Leach b. 1842 before she married George Bristow in 1844. John's marriage record states father 'George Leach' but this must be a registrar mistaken assumption that father 'George' had the same name as John. Census records show John Leach Bristow in 1861 with George Bristow and Ann. https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Leach-1874&errcode=saved

Thank you for all the new information after all this time ;D

You are welcome! I was watching the series about Cary Grant and I just started researching and filling in the gaps in his family tree on Wikitree as I watched, then continued for a few more days. I've got lots of experience and I really enjoy having new lines to research!
-
I have done lots on Carys mothers family as that is my direct line.
