1881
William (56) and his family appear as HEATH

Hi,
Thanks for the replies, I found them in 1881 as Heath and so I tried that name for the 1891 census but with no results. I went to the library again today and tried to find him with soundtex but still had no luck.
Very grateful
Thank you

Hi again KR,
I'm not sure if this will help, but I think Geoff will agree - if you have a surname that is slightly awkward to find .. it sometimes pays to leave it out completely.
In the case of the above, I used the most uncommon one, which was Alma and hoped she was with her grandfather ten years previously .. ?
You might already do this .. but nothing ventured nothing gained .. :)

I try "every which way" - for the 1881, I looked for William born in Barholm. Every which way I tried however, I couldn't spot Caroline in 1881 ::)
-
Yes, I have come to the conclusion that less info is sometimes better.
I have tried to find Caroline in 1881, she was born in Baston.
The closest one I can find is a Caroline Skeath a visitor to a family in Liverpool born Boston. I wondered whether it should have been Baston.
Regards

Ah yes, that's her - image looks like Baston. I only looked in Lincs ::)

Have to agree Geoff .. I've just looked at it now and was going to download
it .. but now you're here and think so too .. ! :) :)

Hi,
Thanks for looking at the image, I have only got the census print from the IGI, I will take a closer look when I go to the library. A new puzzle to answer is she visiting relatives ?
Thanks again
KR ;D

Hi again KR,
I will post a copy of Caroline's birthplace in 1881 .. won't be long .. ! :)
-
When you compare an O with an A in the enumerator's handwriting .. it definately looks like an A to me .. ?

Sorry, I've had to enlarge it quite a bit and might have overdone it .. !

KR.
Hi there, :)
do you have the write up from the Lincolnshire Echo , about Dorothy Skeath's death.
Eilleen.
-
Hi Eilleen,
That sounds interesting, no I don't.

KR
-
KR,
Here it is then :)
-
Sorry Pels,
I thought I had replied to this.
I have now printed it off.
Thanks
KR :)

Thanks Eilleen,
I am not sure if this Dorothy was one of mine. I have a 1901 census for a Frederick Skeath who had a daughter called Dorothy born about 1900, for the village of Braceborough. I will have to look to see where Ruskington is.
Interesting reading though.
Many thanks
KR :)
