PRE 1841 Information Needed Please on JOHN GRIFFITHS
If possible, it would be helpful to have more information on John,
such as: his parent and sibling names, mariner experience, parish records re birth/ marriage.
I have no need for post 1841 information, on John Griffiths.
I know that John Griffiths was born about 1810, in Llanelly. Married 1837
In 1841 census, John Griffiths was living at Mill Street, Llanelly, married to
Ann Griffith, 27 Mariners Wife.
In 1861, John was living at 5 Bankybrooks, Pembrey,
occupation: Copperworks Lab. Married to Ann Griffiths, age 49, Llanelly
He had six children.

John's wedding was March 1837 St. Elli, Llanelly.
I found it online more than a year or so ago. I can no longer
find this website. To answer your question Carol, their
marriage took place pre-1837 registration date. Too bad!
It mostly listed the names of the bride and groom, plus date of marriage.
No witnesses or parent information were given.
I tied the date of marriage to the arrival of John's first child Dec. 1837.
I hope I am correct in assuming that. :-\

If it helps any, this looks like the correct marriage. Marriage index 1813-1837
March 31 1837, John Griffith - Ann Thomas at Llanelly, Carm, no other info given on index and he is down as 'Griffith'

I thought parent names and witnesses were recorded at Welsh marriages, prior to 1837, until I read Carol's post yesterday!
Hopefully, we can find John Griffiths/Griffith birth record, about 1810, Llanelly!
