Hello,

I am looking for George Cole in the 1851 census.

He was born in Baston Lincs 1812.
His son George Francis was born abt 1838.

I have found him in 1861  & 1871 in Lambeth.

1861 as follows:                                                       
George Cole H age   49 Plumber Lincolshire       
Mary     Cole W   "    43               Sussex             
George Cole S    "     23               Beighton ?       

I have a possible find in 1841 in Rutland

George Cole 29 Glazier N
Mary      "      25            N
George  "        3            N

His son George Francis married Jane Sneath in 1862 Baston.

As it says Sussex, I imagine that son's birthplace was Brighton

With that info, you will find young George staying with (someone's) family in Kent in 1851.

This is the 1851 Ref No for a George Cole b Brighton staying with the Harding family
