Post by: KR on Monday 02 March 09 18:14 GMT (UK)
Hi,

Mary Rebekah Cole was born abt 1867 in Market Deeping.

I can't find her in the 1891 census.

She married John Richard Tales 1st Aug 1892 Market Deeping.

I can't find them in the 1901 census.

last known census I have for Mary R, is 1881 age 14 at Halfleet Market Deeping.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks KR  :)

Hi

If you are descended from one of their children who was born before 1901 - can you provide details of that child which may help to find them

What about the Mary R Cole b 1867 Market Deeping working as a servant in Market Deeping.  Correctly transcribed so you should have been able to find her

Many thanks Carol and Ricky,

I am a  decedent from Mary Rebekah's mother Anna Maria Cole, but I like to get the bigger picture of family members, so I don't know the children yet of Mary R & John Richard Tales.

But I think you may have found them Ricky.
I have their marriage details and John Richard Tales was aged 25 in 1892 and his occupation was a painter, his father was called Matthew. Also Arthur was the name of Mary Reb's father and  brother.

I only have access to ancestry at the local library so maybe I missed Mary Reb on the 1891, will try again.

Thank You
KR  :)

Hi KR

I had a google about to see if I could find a place called the Laurels High Street, Market Deeping, and only thing I came up with was a care  home at 45 High Street. I know looking at the 1891 there was a place called Surbiton House next door, which was a girls private school by the looks of things. So could be the care home ??? ???

Just to confirm that The Laurels is a Care Home in Market Deeping High Street. It's a fairly large and imposing detached house. (I drive past it every week)
