Title: BRANDON SUN: Buckley Obituary Lookup?

I wonder if it would be possible for anyone to look up an obituary? I would greatly appreciate it.
Are there indexes available? I have not run across any yet.

Birth:  30 Sep 1878, Arnprior, McNab, Renfrew, Ontario, Canada
Death:  8 Dec 1957, Brandon, Manitoba, Canada

Don't search for this one since I do not have an actual date, but if you happen to run across it:

Helenea 'Lena' (STAVENAW) BUCKLEY – James' wife, have also seen it as SEVANT
Birth: 1880, Ontario, Canada
Death: 1959, Brandon, Manitoba, Canada

time went too quickly & I never got into the microfilm reels for the Brandon Sun today....
will do those searches next time I get downtown...Hope you aren't in a rush as I don't go often .

Checked the newspapers on microfilm today....I found a short death notice for him on the 12th which is unusual four days later...I kept checking through several more days and could not find an obit for him....If they had little money, sometimes the funeral was enough of a bleed without having to also pay for an obit...and the death notice is usually soon after the death, when it is more in the time frame in which you'd see an obituary....
 
However, I did search later for any Buckley I could find in Brandon, ( one for sure says born Ontario...) and have compiled a file with those newspaper clippings. They may or may not be descendants, but there may be a clue in there that rings a bell....
If you want these clippings, please private message your email address to me ( do not post it on the thread) with the surname  in the subject line as I have several others done as well.

There's this marriage  June 20th 1906 in Winnipeg, Mb.
Groom BUCKLEY, James W.  to  SHESENSON Lena
 
 I can see why you are having trouble finding the family as I don't see the couple on the censuses...

I don't see anything in the clippings that match. That isn't to say that they won't come into play later. I ran across the wedding information in the Manitoba Vital Statistics and think I've found records for Lena but the spelling is different, so not sure. Still investigating....

I have Helenea 'Lena' SHESENSON (also STEVANT/STAVENAW). Born 28 Apr (gm's birthday book) or 6 Jul 1880, Ontario, died 26 Dec 1959, Brandon (all TBC). May have her in 1901 Census: Strathford, Perth, Ontario, then she, Jim and daughters in 1916, Brandon. I have birth years for both daughters, the youngest, Margaret died sometime before 2004, but no more specifics.

I found a notice on CAIN: CAIN No. 227783 Manitoba Archival Information Network, TITLE: James Buckley fonds.

I hope to find a living relative to suggest Ireland/England locations. Have a 1870 record of immigration from England but with Michael and Bridget as forenames, am not able to pinpoint them before that.

Here's hoping...

Not sure if you had found Ruth, she was'nt mentioned on this thread :-

The find a grave entries for James and Lena seem to be yours in 2013. Lena had a death date.
