Hi David :)
The Cornwall OPC site (www.cornwall-opc-database.org) shows a likely marriage for John and Ann in Warbstow:
28 Nov 1806
John Spettigue - Ann Harris

Morning Tati
Hope you are well ;D

Thanks Tati,
Useful site but I can't get any lead on Edward's or his father's baptism :(

Yes, looking at their coverage, they don't have Warbstow christenings, and the IGI doesn't either as far as I can see :(
-
Though IGI does have the birth of a John Spettigue (in Cornwall) about 1774 with parents Richard Spettigue & Mary Moyse.
The 1851 census has John 73 meaning birth year 1778. JS above could be our man but difficult to tell.

if no-one here has access to the parish records, you could try the online parish clerk

Hi David,
Ann HARRIS was baptised 26 Oct 1776 Otterham parents Edward and Elizabeth
possibly
Edward HARRIS = Elizabeth GLANVILLE 15 Apr 1751 Otterham
John SPETTIGUE was baptised 11 Aug 1778 Otterham parents Richard and Mary
I cannot find a marriage for Richard and Mary, but have to wonder if this may be the reason
(noted in Phillimore's Transcripts for Warbstow)
The second volume has a leather binding and paper leaves consisting of Hardwicke’s forms. On the outside cover is inscribed “Marriages from 1754 to 1812.” The first eight pages are missing the earliest entry being dated 2Ist April, 1771. There is also a missing page between 27th Oct. 1788 and 15th March, 1791.
Sorry - No luck with a baptism for Edward
Cheers Kris :)

Thanks very much Tati & Kris ;D

Here are John and Ann in 1851 Census with daughter Mary, at Lower Cross, Warbstow:
John Spettigue (73, retired farmer born in Warbstow)
Ann (74, wife born in Otterham)
Mary (41, daughter born in Warbstow)
* *
Dau Mary was deaf and dumb from birth and died sometime after 1871 when she is shown staying with her married sister Ann in Tavistock, Devon.
John is buried Jan 28 or 29, 1852 and Ann is buried Feb 04 1859, both in Warbstow.
My husband is descended from Richard SPETTIGUE & Mary MOYSE as well and now I know why I cannot find their marriage ~ those missing pages in Phillimore's most likely :o(
John and Ann's son Edward married twice and had a total of 11 children.
