Title: Danburys ...Witney/Woodstock/Bladon marriage required c 1920
Post by: gingerslf on Sunday 03 May 09 10:17 BST (UK)
4 children all born to a Danbury, mothers maiden name Wilson.

1st child born 1926 (Marjorie) and last (William Stanley) 1939 but I can not find a marriage on BMD in Witney/Woodstock around this time for Danbury/Wilson.

Can anyone help please?

Hi

Do you not have the Christian names of the parents?

Wendy :)

you need the Birth Cert of one of those kids ..... Mrs Danbury may have been formerly married, and used that name on marriage, whereas she properly recorded her maiden name on the Birth Index entries ....

Hi Wendy

Don't have any more info....I'm trying to do it as a surprise for a friends b'day and don't want to ask too many questions...but it looks like I'll have to ask a few discreet ones or ask around.... :)

Hi
This is Majorie's Birth Cert

Births Sep Qtr 1926
Danbury    Marjorie J    Wilson    Woodstock    3a   1734.

Can order online at

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

It will give all the names. Then maybe you'll find the wedding. Awkward trying to do it on the quiet though. If you can find out the names without spending £7 on a certificate let us know on this board.

wendy :)

I did notice that the only male Danbury marrying in Witney/Woodstock at this time is a William in March 1926, the year the first daughter was born.  But the maiden name was (Norah) Harrison, not Wilson.

One son was called William.......

Thought that maybe she was born Norah Wilson who married a Mr Harrison who died and then she remarried using the name she was born with.......but can find nothing to support this.

Have had a look down the William line...found one born 1891 Woodstock..William Ziba Danbury...the family seem to have very odd names...there is also a Liba....

I have never come across these names ever before!

If it is this family they should be easy to trace!

I know....only speculation, which is no good.
