Could someone please check for a marriage of James Crampton to Elizabeth Gelder about 1833 Luddington / Crowle area.
I have a birth certificate of one of their sons James Crampton born 1844 in Thorne which shows father James and mother Elizabeth formerley Gelder.
1841 Census shows James Crampton born 1810 Crowle and Elizabeth Crampton born 1813 Luddington. Oldest daughter Mary born 1835 Crowle. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for that. Could you tell me any fathers names appear?
-
As a rule you didn't get fathers' names before 1837. I'm afraid I don't have the winesses' names either.

Thanks for that. I have spent hours looking for this marriage.
Now I need to confirm who James (born 1810 Crowle) Mother and Father were poss George and Elizabeth?

It looks quite likely, there don't seem to be any other CRAMPTONs producing kids there at that time .... although there were two Elizabeth CRAMPTONs buried there-
24 Nov 1811 aged 28
11 April 1816 aged 31
I can't see an obvious marriage for George and Liz.

I think I have found 1841 census showing george and Elizabeth living in Thorne. It shows George was a maltster as was his son James. I have found reference to a will of Charles William Darley (brewer of Thorne) with legacies to James, Charles, and Harry Crampton dated 1818. Could you check if George had any brothers or children of that name.

All I can see is (all at Crowle)
1807 Mary Ann
1809 George
1810 James

Elizabeth CRAMPTON buried 24 Nov 1811 aged 28 - additional info is wife of George, labourer.

I guess the other one could perhaps have been a sister of George's, bap Thorne 1783 while George was bap Crowle 1786 ... both children of John CRAMPTON and Ann WALKER perhaps.
