Title: MONKS of Bristol (Local ONS update)
Post by: The Geneal Geologist on Thursday 28 May 09 07:07 BST (UK)
An invitation to anyone who has Bristolian MONKS in their family to participate in the latest revision of my local One-Name Study. They were mostly resident in the Stapleton/Mangotsfield area and were registered in Keynsham, Clifton & Bristol RDs. Most were mason or stone cutters, also miners.

I am currently revising the family tree from the late 1600's to the present through contact with over 40 researchers on Genes Reunited. There have been a number of corrections based on confirmed certificate content and this will be uploaded to my website during this coming weekend. The descendant tree, containing over 350 related MONKS individuals (spouses not included in this figure, but given were known) is close to being data-conflict free (unless, of course, you know differently!)

MONKS branches from Bristol have now been identified in:
 - Cardiff/South Wales
 - Lambeth, South London
 - Dudley, Worcestershire
 - Aston, Birmingham

Progress can be monitored here - http://creativegraces.net/genindex/monks.html
I welcome your feedback.

Regards,
Mark
