No parents names are shown on marriage entries of this date, the only info shown is the participant's names, status ie batch, spin. or wid., OTP ( of this parish) or other,  date & church, name of priest, & two witnesses, both participants sign either by name or X.

From the marriage register St Leonard's, Shoreditch

Henry Taylor of this parish bachelor
and Eliza Steel of this parish spinster
were married in this church by Banns
this 8th day of May in the year 1833
by me Walter Kelly Curate
This marriage was solumnized between us
Henry Taylor (signed his name)
Eliza Steel (signed her name)
in the presence of
Geo Yarrow (signed his name but he's the parosh professional, his name is all over the register)
Charlotte Steel (signed her name)

Ah yes! Some clues there, "Charlotte" may help quite a bit. Plus the fact they could both sign their names. And both of the parish, that's good.

I have found parents' names now and again on marriage records, and not just as witnesses. So it's always worth a try. Many thanks all of you.

Thanks yes, I'm really having to do a bit of detetive work on this one as Eliza claimed to have been born in Essex, as well she may have been, but I'm baffled as to why, so unsure yet if I've got the right marriage here.
