Hi Rowley,
Thanks for above info. you say wrong parents for James but it could be that Emma was also a JONES and their her parents.
However I don't think this is the right one as far as I'm aware James didn't have children with 1st wife on saying that there could be a possiblity she died during childbirth.
I checked BMD after 1901 - 1907 for deaths in Merthyr T for Emma & Abraham but nothing.
I have however found death possiblities for James' parents Peter & Rachel JONES in Merthyr T which roughly ties up with their date of birth
Peter 1882 age 57 & 1888 age 57
Rachel 1895 age 64 & 1910 aged 78 & 77
So it looks as if I'm not going to find the family together on 1891 census but hopefully someone may be able to help find Rachel on 1891 & 1901 widowed and maybe living with one of her children in Aberdare :-\
Thanks again for your help
Ladyhawk :)

Have had a reply from Sally on Monmouth message board she has found a James JONES b1871 Aberdare coal miner on 1901c living with in-laws the MARTINS married to their dau. Louisa.
This looks promising as there's a 1904 death for Louisa JONES age 24.
Any further info. on the other members of the JONES family very much appreciated - thanks :)
