Hi Sunflower
The baptism you have found "fits" better with p.o.b. and age on death reg
age on census (if we have the correct chap)
is
1851 71
1861 86
But p.ob. is consistant -beckingham

Thank you for all your replies. I am 99.9% that I have the tree correct until it gets to finding Georges parents. In the 1841 census he as listed as dob 1781,1851 census dob 1780, and 1861 census dob 1775 . In all these years 1841/51/61 he lived in Wheatley Notts. Who are his parents.??????????????
Thank you for taking the time to reply

Hi Michael
All the information you have so far is pointing to the one baptised at Beckingham 31 May 1784 to Thos & Rebecca. In 1851 & 1861 census he does give his birthplace as Beckingham plus there is a burial 30.1.1867 for a George White aged 82. I noticed he also named one of his daughters Rebecca.

Thanks Carol.
I am tending to agree with you. Just one more question, would Georges father be mentioned on his wedding registration on 01/05/1809
Thank You

Hi Michael
Usually there are 2 or more witnesses to the marriage and if you are lucky could be a member of the family, but it doesn't state who they are. It also states which parish they were both from and if single or widowed etc. Some entries give more information than others and if they were married by licence you can send for a copy of the licence which usually gives a bit more information.
Are you aware that there is another George White who married in Sturton in 1814?

Carol
Once again thanks for the reply. The George White married in 1814 was not married to a "Mary". (LDS). Could you tell me where I can obtain a copy of the entry for George White that was married in 1809.
Thanks
