Is your interest in him purely because he was a lodger in the Limming household in 1901?
He is shown as married so is there a connection to your Limming tree?
-
Hi Carolew
I think there must be a family connection. A few years ago a Sadie Newman was asking for information to the Boughen family. Maria Boughen is the wife of John Limming on the census. I lost the link when the computer broke down and could not retrieve the information. So I am now starting again and asking if anyone can help me?
Thanks
Sheila

He's a real mystery man
The only one I could come up with on the 1911 was a John Thomas Newman but I traced him plus family on the 1891/1901
The only one in the age range on the 1871 was b Boothby Pagnell which seems to be about 35miles from Whaplode looking at the map so no joy there
I've searched on just Thomas b 1868-1870 Whaplode but no luck
The 1901 has no married Newman females without a spouse living in Lincs but being realistic - he may not have married in Lincs
There is no marriage on freebmd in Lincs 1889-1899 but there are several in Northants
I wonder if he was known as Thomas but had another christian name

hi Carolew
Thanks for checking all the census records for me. Like you say a real mystery man. I wonder if you are right regarding the christian name. Newman is a popular name so I will be looking at a lot of records to sort this out. if you find any more information please let me know
Thanks again

Sheila
