Ann Holgate, born 1847 in Hull.
1851 census shows her at Winterton / Glanford Brigg with no other Holgates.
1861 census shows her at Darby / Burton upon Stather / Glanford Brigg, again with no other Holgates!!!
Can anyone find any more information?
Thank you, Mike

1861 says "Niece" doesn't it?
Watson SHAW's wife had been Ann DRIFFILL.
Sorry no answers ???
I think she married George WRIGHT
Marriages Dec 1869
HOLGATE Annie Glanford Brigg 7a 1373
WRIGHT George Glanford B. 7a 1373

You are correct that Ann later married George WRIGHT.
Interestingly George named one of his children Thomas Watson WRIGHT.
And in the 1881 census for George and Ann there is a nursechild Watson Shaw HANCOCK.
Only seen brief details of the census. Haven't seen niece.
Where does Watson SHAW and Ann DRIFFILL come from?
Perhaps they were the farmers at Darby Grange?
Many thanks and best regards, Mike

Many thanks. Seems to tie together nicely.
Surname spellings in the 1841 census often seems a skew. I've noticed it before in the Drury side of my family.
Best regards, Mike

Hannah age 4 in 1841 Census is actually HARRIET and in 1851 she is down as Neice of JOHN/ANN Driffill. She is born c 1837, Winterton and was Christened there 19 March 1837 to Thomas/Jane.
