Andreas Julius Heinemann, son of the unmarried Margarethe Elizabeth Heinemann was born here on the (18th) eighteenth June (1823) eighteen hundred and twenty-three and baptised on the 6th July and named as above.

I'm not sure of the first letter in the place, and the second paragraph is hard to make out.

The repeated letter pair in the final word is 'oh' not 'ch' compare them in 'unverehelichten' in the opening line.

Thank you Justin and Augustine. This is a bit of a surprise. I thought the date was 1855 which makes this a copy, probably obtained prior to his marriage in England to Amelia Wingate of Kent. Their marriage certificate gives his father as Christian Heinemann, gardener. Not true ? I googled Doenstedt and found its in Saxony. So, nothing about Christian or Magdeburg there ?

You have the date of his birth in Dönstedt (Bebertal). Ask for this certificate.

It should be a 'k' in Oktober surely?
Look at the 'ch' in Achtzehn.
It then occurred to it could be two different hands. However, look at 'ch' in Schein.
The final word is maddening, it could end in 'ohn'.
If the 'Schein' were to agree with the 'Kirchenbuch' the verb would surely have to be 'uebereinstimmen'.
This is certainly a challenge.
The birth year is definitely 1823. And you are probably right Roy in thinking that Andreas obtained the certificate for his marriage. In theory, it was necessary to demonstrate proof of baptism to marry in a CofE church.
There is no civil birth certificate to be ordered, civil registration in Germany only started in 1871-ish.

I doesnt look like a 'c' to me . but the paper has been folded there.
Doenstedt just brings up a big mine on googlearth, but there is a Dornstedt, south of Magdeburg.
