Im just wondering if someone can help me find out when my wifes grandmother Antigone Theodore came to the UK.
She was born in 1912 in Rotterdam, Netherlands and married a Wilhelmus Schoenmakers in Paddington, London in 1945.
Her father was Anastase Theodore born somewhere in the Netherlands in 1874.
Is anyone able to help find records of any of these names coming into the UK?
Thanks, David.

It is unlikely you will find her coming into the UK; ships records from Europe weren't kept. The only immigration-related records I've seen circa WWII are records of internees at liberty (e.g. German-born persons who were Jewish or other refugees fleeing the Nazis), which are online at http://www.movinghere.org.uk/

- Rotterdam archives have some records. Births only go up to 1902, but Anastassy Eleftery Theodore and Maaike Brandt are listed as having at least two children - 1899 and 1900 - these could be siblings of Antigone, and you can order a copy of these records via email. You should contact the archives to see about getting a copy of Antigone's birth also; they may be able to help you out even if it hasn't been put online, or at least tell you where to go next.

Thanks for that! Looks a wonderful website. I did look at the search part of the site but I cant understand a word!
What do the following mean in english?
Zoekterm
Instelling / Naam
Tussenvoegsel?

Clicking "English" and then "Genealogy" on the top bar is the easiest way to get to the bmd records.
I think Zoekterm is "search term"
Instelling / Naam is the name of an institution or a person?
Tussenvoegsel = middle name

Not that you are looking for this but it might change the direction again
The First Theodore in the Netherlands came from Ville Chetere in France and was a fuselier 58 cohorte in the French army about 1770 based in the Netherlands
