Hi guys
Please don't take the easy way out and email responses to look-up requests - it defeats the object of the exercise.
By posting them here, we can keep a permanent record of what has been found - some might disagree with the findings and it's always useful to have more than one opinion.
If the OP decides that they want more information, others might lose heart and not bother to reply if they don't know what the original correspondence consisted of.
Also, if the OP loses their computer records, the original findings will be recorded here for posterity.
Additionally, if a long-lost relative sees the search via a search engine, they might make contact - not possible if the records aren't posted.
Many thanks.
Kind regards, Arranroots ;)

It's possible, do you know more about Ernest's family? I am directly descended from John Roles who was born in Somerset around 1876. I know very little about the family.

Hi
No I don't have any info on the family. A lady I knew who has now passed away was Ernest Roles daughter. I have Ernest Bible Because I just could not see it thrown away, and hoped one day to return it to a family member. It is inscribed as follows
Presented to Ernest Roles
by members of the Sunday School class at the Gospel Hall Matlock on the occasion of his leaving for South Wales Oct 13th 1912

Hmm I will keep the name in mind. As far as I can tell so far, if there is a relation it is a distant one.
