Mary White, bp 1763, was the daughter of James White and Elizabeth Wallington of South Marston, Wiltshire.
On 8 Sep 1783, at South Marston church, Mary married Walter Edwards, a carpenter of Highworth.
I am looking for any children they may have had.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi Cello,
There was a marriage licence bond dated 7 Sep 1783 between Walter EDWARDS a bachelor, carpenter of Highworth and Mary WHITE spinster of Highworth (South Marston). Bondsman Richard EDWARDS carpenter of Highworth
I am only seeing one birth
EDWARDS James White born 3 Apr 1784 and bap 11 June 1784 Highworth
possibly
EDWARDS Walter was buried 18 Apr 1800 South Marston aged 43 years
Cheers Kris :)

Thank you Kris
I have been stuck on this for years and although I have traced a lot of descendants from my 3 x great-grandfather, Thomas White, I have not been able to trace his siblings including this sister Mary.
This looks 100% spot on so I will see what I can now find out about James White Edwards.
Kind regards

I never managed to find anything more about James White Edwards.
I would now like to ask if anyone can help with information about his grandparents, James White and Elizabeth Wallington (my 4 x great grandparents)
I think they were married on 14 February 1754 at South Marston, Wiltshire.
I think they had five children:
James White baptised about 1755
Elizabeth White baptised about 1756
Thomas White baptised about 1760, buried 27 April 1836 at South Marston
William White baptised about 1763, died 1822
Mary White baptised about 1766 (the mother of James White EDWARDS)
Kind regards

Elizabeth White, of Marston, aged 24, married John Sansum at Hinton Parva [Little Hinton] Wilts, 5-6-1784
Hi Youngtug
Many, many thanks!
I will try and work through this over the weekend.
With regard to your posting quoted above, the age doesn't add up to her baptism year. Is there any additional information regarding the name of this Elizabeth's father?
Kind regards

I am afraid that at this moment in time I have no indication of the father of the Elizabeth who married John Sansum. The Parish record microfiche says only that she was from Marston. I will have to do more research being has she is my gtgtgtgtgrandmother.
The Elizabeth, daughter of James & Elizabeth baptized 1856 could be her, shaving 4 years off of a woman's age when she got married is not unheard of.

Did you make any progress with this?
I can now confirm that Elizabeth who married John Sansum was the daughter of James and Elizabeth. She is mentioned in her brother Williams will

Hi Youngtug
After many years of no research, I am back to the White family.
Thank you for your post on 04 March 2018.
Is the will you mention above for William White who was buried on 12-Dec-1822 at South Marston? If so, can you please tell me how I can get a copy. I have only got my research back to James White and Elizabeth Wallington (William's parents) and it might help me get back further.
Regards

The Will was proved 31-Dec-1822 at London. It is on Ancestry, William White of Highworth. died 1822
-
There are also the Wills of Thomas White the elder, James White and John White

Thank you.

There is no mention in the Will that I can see about his parents.
I do not have at the moment parents for James but Elizabeth Wallington's father was I think Thomas Wallington baptised 10 Nov 1684 South Marston
-
In the South Marston register the earliest White is the marriage of a James White of Stanton [probably Stanton Fitzwarren, the adjoining village] to Elizabeth [?] [sorry, could not read the name] of South Marston. 14-Sep- 1721.
