Title: Completed Thanks
Post by: perilsofpauline1 on Saturday 09 January 10 15:48 GMT (UK)
My Margaretta Schofield (nee Morgans) was born in 1878 in Pontyprydd, but died in Atherton, Lancashire, yet she is buried in Glyn Taff Cemetery (died 1909) according to a memorial inscription at Atherton cemetery. She had already lost a two year old son edward in 1900, then her surviving son Benjamin died in 1910 and was possibly being looked after by relatives in Pontypridd so may also be buried in Glyn Taff.
It just seems a bit strange that Margarettas body would have been sent back to her home town, but hopefully she is buried in a family plot which will at least give me her parents names.
Strangely, her husband vanished after his last son died - did he go overseas to get over his grief I wonder????

Plot no.FB.0346 bruial Ref no. 10732 year 1909.

You could contact Glyn Taff Cemetery Office

To ask if anyone is buried with her
Benjamin is not on the list.
Hope this helps

Hi Cardiff,
I was just checking my messages, and it looks as if I didnt reply to your post - I always acknowledge answers to my posts so please accept my sincerest apologies for somehow overlooking this. ???
It was very disappointing to see no other names with Margaretta but I will write to the cemetery office and keep my fingers crossed.
Many many thanks Cardiff.
