Mainly fao Anna (Kena):
Wm Burnhope, bapt Haydon 23/3/1788, married Mary Oliver @ Warden 10/7/1808 -both were then 'of Newboro' but it's proved difficult to identify her. She seems to have been buried @ Warden 7/12/1838, aged 57. I don't have any burial details for Wm, but he is likely to be the Wm Burnip who died in Newc'l 1846 -in hospital? Is there anything for him in Warden ch'yard? Any MIs for either?
Wm's parents were definitely Joseph Burnhope, bapt Hexham & buried Haydon Br 'aged 81', & his wife Elizabeth Mewes, buried St Cuthbert, Haydon Bridge, 16/10/1835, 'aged 68'. This doesn't tie in exactly with any Eliz Mewes / Muis/ Muse that can be identified, but perhaps the marriage entry (Warden 13/1/1782) may have her father's name as a witness: if her age at death is correct, she would have been a minor & needed his permission. A number of trees on the web show her as the dr of Michael & Margaret, bapt Haydon 1761, but I'm now doubtful.
Joseph's father is stated at his baptism at Hexham Abbey 7/3/1756 as Isaac of Whitley Mill -Joseph also became a miller. Is there anything in Hexham or Warden or Whitley for Isaac & his wife & family?
Any help much appreciated -Geoffrey.

Another attempt to sort these folk out. There's a lot of stuff on the internet about them, because Isaac Burnhope became a Mormon pioneer. Has anyone actually got a copy of his baptism in 1808, supposedly at Hexham Abbey, though his parents were married at Warden? Unfortunately the Bp's Transcript is unavailable online, but most Diocese of Durham transcripts of this period record information about the parents & even grandparents, which could be useful in pinning down his mother, Mary Oliver.

Burials Haydon Bridge:
Isaac Burnhope 4 Oct 1781 of Woodhall Mill
Thomas Burnhope 25 Oct 1890 son of Joseph of Woodhall Mill
Elizabeth Burnhope (21) daur of Joseph Burnhope of Haydon Bridge
Joseph Burnhope (27) of Haydon Bridge
Margaret Burnope 7 Dec 1835 (2 mo) of Haydon Bridge
Joseph Burnhope (81) 27 Jun 1836 of Ingo Mill in Stamfordham
Way too many Muse/ and variations. Give some names and dates and I will write them out
In Hexham there is a marriage to perhaps add to the mix--might be helpful in the future. Marriage 13 Aug 1831 of Isaac Burnhope and Elizabeth Charlton. Wit: Joseph Burnhope and Jane Fisher.
Later 18 May 1844 William Burnhope, widr, woodman of Sunnyside, son of Joseph, miller; and Jane Lamb, spinster of Hexham daur of William, husbandman

Thank you for those, Janis. I had some of those entries, but you've given me some extra details.
Various people give the Elizabeth Mews who married Joseph Burnhope in 1782 as the dr of Michael, b in 1761; but perhaps this is just because she is given as age 21 at marriage (on licence bond) -but so is he -it just means 'over 21' in this instance. None of her children is called Michael, whereas her 2nd boy wascalled William, & I think that suggests she was really Elizabeth, dr of Wm, b 1757.
Regards,
Geoffrey. :)
