Could any one look up a death of a Mary Streeton district Grantham, may be in Croxton Keyrial, Jan/Feb/March 1900. Was aged 32. I need to know the name of her husband, if possible and where she was living.

Hi Sue
The GRO index has this
Deaths Mar 1/4 1901
Streeton, Mary, 32, Grantham 7a, 295
But it's only an index, you'll need to purchase the certificate from Grantham reg office or the GRO to get any further details.

Hi Sue,
If you can wait whilst Saturday I can check in Grantham library and check Parish records and local Grantham Journal and see what I can find.At least you have helped by giving her name and Dawn has given the Jan-Mar 1901 which helps to find it more easily.

Hi
Thanks Kathy, if you can have a look that would be great. What I need to find out if Mary was the wife of Francis William Streeton.
All the BMD certificates have recently gone up and this family history hobby of mine is proving to be quite expensive.
If you need something from the Bournemouth area, I would be pleased to help.

Hi Sue,
I had a look in Grantham Journals today(I am only in for an hour)but did not find a report but as you proberbly know they don't always put them in. I am in the library again Wednesday afternoon and will look in the Parish records and should hopefully find the answer.

Hi Kathy
Thanks, if you are lucky to find the information , perhaps it would also give Mary's name before marriage etc.

Hi Sue,
Success I have found Mary Streetons marriage it was on micro film Reel 883.Denton Section 1/9 Page 126.
May 23rd 1893.Denton Parish Church.Rector Thomas H Craster?.
John Streeton (26) Bachelor. Carpenter. Res at time of marriage Openshaw Manchester.Father. Walter Streeton. Engineer.
Mary Jane Elizabeth Clark (25) Spinster. Res at time of marriage Denton.Father.James West Clark.
Both Signed.
Witnesses. William Streeton,Walter Streeton,Loisa Streeton & Charles West Clark.
There were no Streetons or Clarks baptism on the parish records so I had a quick look on the 1901 census on micro fiche RG13/3053 and found just 1 Clark on page 19/108 for a Martha A Clark.Head.Widow (70) laundry maid domestic .Born Bastleton Hampshire.Wether she is any connection to Mary Streeton I don;t know.
Sue if you send me a PM with your email on I can send you more info.

Many thanks, but I think I have been sending you on a wild goose chase, and feel bad.
I have a Francis William Streeton marrying a Mary Watts in 1900 at Southam in September. When I locate him in 1901 he is a widower. I found a death of a Mary Streeton in March 1900 Grantham 7a 295 and assumed that she was the wife of Francis as Francis's Father and Mother lived at Croxton Keyrial.
So I am very sorry, that its not the answer, after all your hard work.

John and Mary JE STREETON (and 2 children) were in Manchester in 1901.

Hi Sue,
Don't worry about the mistake we all do it at sometime but it does show that we have to check the info given by locating the original source to stop us going down the wrong track.
