Hoping for any information about the Horrill Family who at one stage lived in Poundstock. Any help would be much appreciated. :)

It will be easier for folk to help if you can give some idea of what info you already have (including dates) - then people wont be in danger of duplication effort finding things you already have.

I know that THirza Horrill born in Poundstock c1868 is recorded in
1884 Census in Durham. I think that fer Father was John born in Poundstock c1847 - wife Elizabeth Gay.

but this appears to be a different one to what you have with parents John and Elizabeth - did you mean 1881 census? I'll have a squint around
it is a different one - right family now found in 1871 - see later posts

Yes - clearly 2 Thirza Horr*l's around, born about that time in poundstock!
Here is the 1881 you refer to. Looking at the childrens places of birth, this family could well have been in Wales in 1871

thank you so much - this is great! We wondered if there could be a connection with Wales. So many questions answered ....... and I have a cousin with me from overseas for a few days and we are both sitting with our mouths wide open :o.

Gradually adding things together - no birth certs for anyone - heard only stories of a ?great great aunt Sophia ...and that the family had been in Wales for a while but no-one seemed to know for sure!

Have been working through the site on Cornwall - so much to look at! Gradually have seen what you found - you obviously know your way around and the best way to search, fabulous to see occupations etc.
