Hi, I'm new here, though not new to genealogy, so this is my first post. I'm having a lot of trouble tracking down a family from Pontypridd who changed their name back and forth from Smith to Jackson several times. I came across a post by someone called 'Cardiff' who seems to be tracing the same family, but I can't find a way to contact them directly, so I'm hoping they'll see this post and reply. Hopefully we may be able to help each other out.

Hi & welcome to Rootschat
I have sent Cardiff a pm with the link to this post

Thank you very much Carole. I couldn't figure out how to do that.

Hi
You wouldn't be able to - you have to make 3 posts before you can send a pm
You are now on 2 (see the counter by your name) and if you reply to this reply - bingo - you are on 3 and all ready when Cardiff replies
To send a pm - you click on the little green scroll by the name of the person you want to contact. If it's bright green - they are online. If it's dark green - they are offline

Aha. Thanks so much, you've been a great help. I'm sure I'll soon get to know the ropes.
