Please could someone lookup for any baptisms in Holbeach of anyone between 1772-1792 with the father named William Beeston and mother named Elizabeth ?
I am hoping one may show the mother's surname/maiden name as on FreeREG it shows her marriage to William Beeston in 1772 that her surname was Wellbanks and that she was a Widow - would this surname have been her maiden name or her married name?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Regards
Sally

My marriage index has the name as WALLBANKS.
There was a marriage at Holbeach in 1764, Thomas WALLBANKS to Elizabeth MARTIN - see FreeReg

Thanks Geoff
I think you're spot on with this one ;)
I have a Susanna Martin Beeston baptised 1785 in Holbeach daughter of William & Elizabeth Beeston.
Also a Susanna Wellbanks Beeston baptised in 1782 Holbeach.
I've just found on IGI Susanna Martin Wellbanks baptised 1772 in Fleet daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth Wellbanks - so both Elizabeth's marriages they had a daughter and gave Elizabeth's maiden surname (Martin) to both daughters as a middle name.
My only query is Elizabeth & Thomas Wellbanks baptised Susanna Martin Wellbanks 24 Jun 1772 but then in Sept 1772 Elizabeth married William Beeston - am I missing something obvious?!

Sally
ps. Which marriage index do you have that covers this area? I think I need to purchase a marriage & baptism index!

Lose a husband when pregnant and marry again just after birth.
You didn't miss it, just swerved round it!!!!!!!!!!
