Hi all,
Found the Linch family in the 1841 & 1861 census' but they've disappeared in the 1851,
Household as follows
Charles Linch / Lynch was 50 in 1841 born Ireland
Agnes Linch / Lynch was 32 in 1841 born Ireland
1841 stranaer, wigtownshire, Scotland (surname as linch)
1861 stranaer, wigtownshire, Scotland (Charles not present surname as lynch)
Can't find them in stranaer, wigtownshire as Charles doesn't appear on the 1861 census with Agnes, if someone can help track them down would be much appreciated as I can't find them at all,
Thanks in advance
Cheers

Hi AKIRA,
The only one I've found on the 1851 census is I think their daughter Rosina Linch aged 10 born Leswalt living as a charity child with William Simpson and his wife in Stranraer. I suppose they could have gone back to Ireland for some reason. There is also this in the Wig Free Press;
LYNCH/M'CORMICK, Agnes - D30/8/1874 - Here, at Market Street, on the 30th ult., Agnes M'Cormick, aged 61 years, relict of Mr Charles Lynch.
The only other thing I can suggest is ask if anyone has a MI book for Stranraer and see if there is a headstone.
Kind Regards
Beannie

Hi Beannie,
Thank you very much for your reply, hmm ... could explain it but yes that would be Rosy Lynch, Charity Child whats that mean that she was taken and looked after by those in the parish??
Thank you for the death notice I found that also I think i found Agnes in 1871 in stranraer but can't be certain.
MI book ?? never heard of that what is it?
Cheers

Hi Akira,
It's a Memrial Inscription book, I'm sure that someone on the list will have them for Stranraer. If there is a headstone for Agnes it will be in one of the books.
Kind Regards
