Title: Birth/ Christening Look Up For Ann Covington b. abt 1815 - COMPLETE

I am trying to trace back from one of my ancestors, Ann Covington, b. abt 1815 in Bedfordshire (possibly Cardington or Harrowden).

Ann married Joseph Monk in 1832 in Marston Moretaine and I have found her on all the censuses after this (place of birth is different on each, hence I'm unsure of where exactly in Beds she was born).

Could anyone check the Beds parish records for this period and let me know when she was christened and parents names please?

Harrowden was a hamlet of Cardington, so any entries woukld probably have taken place at Cardington.

Cardington entries up to 1812 are on the IGI, but not after that date you'll need to check the microfilm at your nearest LDS Family History Centre

What were the birthplaces shown in the various censuses?

Asking for a look up in Beds parish records is unrealistic if you don't know which parish and if the entry isn't on the IGI or BVRI

Thanks, David. The info about Harrowden and Cardington is helpful (on the censuses there are various different transcriptions of what seems to be these two places so that makes sense).

I'm sorry you think I am being unrealistic. I have the birth, marriage and death indexes for Cambs so I thought someone might have the same for Beds and could, therefore, check that name against the index to see if anything came up around this date which could establish the correct parish and, therefore, help narrow down my search.

Unfortunately there are no equivalents in Beds of the Cambs Baptism and Marriage Indexes, hence my unrealistic comment. However Beds pre 1813 is virtually 100% extracted onto the IGI, and coverage 1813-75 is also good on the IGI, and some of the shortfall is covered on the BVRI. All Beds parishes up to 1813 have been transcribed and are available on either fiche or hard copy from Beds FHS and BLARS.

But Cardington post 1812 isn't on either the IGI or BVRI so it's a case of looking at the microfilm
