Title: Adamstown tombstone look up request
Post by: kojak on Tuesday 03 August 10 20:16 BST (UK)
Hi All,

We have just unearthed some information regarding our Stafford lineage and wonder if anyone has access to and knows of information available covering burials that would have been recorded between 1901 and 1911 most likely taking place in Adamstown.

Bridget Stafford, wife of James Stafford is listed on the 1901 census aged 46, but by 1911 she must have died as we have found James on the 1911 census listed as being a widower.

We would greatly appreciate any help some kind soul can offer in terms of confirming or helping to confirm where and when Bridget died.

Thanks in advance,

Jane and Kenny.

I would think the place to start is with the Civil BMD index (http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=collectionDetails&c=fs%3A1408347) to locate a civil death cert to confirm exactly when and where Bridget died. Actual burials can be hard to find as not everyone had headstones and most RC parish records dont include death/burials.

Just be aware that Irish death certificates include few details and will not show place of burial but sometimes newspaper notice will include that.
