does anybody have any info on george ker died 1764 age 35 janet hill his wife died 1820 longbank daughter janet died 1832 age 70 her husband christopher dickson who died 1831 his occupation was mason also son george who died 1824 at cleughside and young georges daughter 1825 aged 20 csc
-
i think i should have joined these 2 posts together as they are all about the same families in cummertrees i believe george ker senior is a tenant farmer and has more children than george and janet who appear to have about 10 years age difference also my george had at least 2 sons robert henderson kerr born dalton my francis henderson kerr born ruthwell who we think are named after the estate factor robert henderson and his family who died at whitecroft where robert was born does anybody know anything about them csc
-
mr robert henderson in cleughside and mrs janet carruthers from dalton were married in lochmaben 1765 they had sons named robert and francis csc
-
mrs henderson is of the dormont/whitecroft carruthers family their children are born comlongan so george naming his sons after them must be a way of keeping favour with the boss just like the ones in torthorwald/mouswald who have put grierson in their childrens names csc

does anyone have a mary ker/kear born mouswald place 1811or anna born june 1807 pyehills daughters of george kerr and mary dickson mary was the daughter of david dickson and sussanah johnstone born kirkfield mouswald 1774 so she was around 22/23 years younger than him csc
-
this kerr /hill family appear to be married into lots of other families fergussons richardsons irvings bells hetherington dicksons not many births reg it is also difficult as cummertrees and ruthwell are mixed together they also have branches in the surrounding parishes i believe janet hill/has a relative edward in priestside and george has fergusson connections there has to be a william and an agnes somewhere in this lot as these names are repeated in the family csc
-
anyone know who george hill priestsides wife might have been his sons appear to be longdyke and hemplandhill this family is going to take some searching as there is almost no records they are so far back csc
-
christopher dickson longdyke left a will which is unreadable he was married to janet kerr i think he was the son of james dickson and margaret nicholson mouswald christopher/janet had a daughter janet married to andrew anderson no children that i can see also a son james who was a mariner died quite young there are probably other children old george ker/kerr also had relatives married to nicholsons/nickelsons priestside all these people are related through marriage i keep coming back to the same family names lots of dicksons all over csc
-

George Kerr and ary Dickson are my great, great, great grand parents.
Janet Kerr and John Wilson were my great grand parents
Francis Kerr and Mary Bell were my great, great grandparents
I have the list of Janet Kerr's children's names. My granny was named Agnes Jane Irving Bell Wilson. Janet had a son Robert Livingstone Wilson named for the scottish missionary who is known world wide. We must be distant cousins. I have a picture of Janet and her husband and four of their children. merf

My great grandparents Janet Kerr and John Wilson lived in New Abbey, Kirks.
I along with my daughter who was dying from cancer went to New Abbey and the grave yard beside the Abbey and saw and read the grave. Janet was the daughter of Francis Kerr and Mary Bell. My daughter said that she felt like she had come home. I am so happy to have that memory. Please tell me how you are related to Francis Kerr.
