Hi everyone,
I recently asked if it was possible to find William Lloyd aged 31 in the 1841 census .
I have now received the wedding cert for William a printer and his wife Margaret JonesThis shows them living at Waterloo St in Lambeth in 1840. His father is called Charles a flute maker. Her father Richard a porter.
Any help greatfully appreciated for help in finding any of these.

Hi
There are 15 different references for Waterloo St and not one in Lambeth which is quite interesting.
I did find at No. 10 John Lloyd, plumber , 32 born London
Mary 26,born Lond
Catherine 4 born London
Henry 2 born London but they are at 10 Waterloo St Brixton, and a Thomas Jones on page104 of ED6 - no house number, a conductor, born London.
There is a registration district of Waterloo which comes under Lambeth and there are also refs to Waterloo Road (as opposed to Street).
Are you able to narrow it down any more?

-
Hi Cougar,
Thanks for the look up I really appreciate it.
I have mislead you, it should have been Waterloo Road not street.
The wedding took place in 1840 at what could be St John the Evangelist. It is definitely St John Eva******.
The 51 census shows them at Pickett Place St Clement Danes, the 61 Chain Court St Clement Danes, the 71 Blewitt St.
illiam definitely worked in the printing trade.

Hi Dasher
Hope you are not in a hurry - Waterloo Road has more like 50 references - so will get onto it tomorrow for you, could take a little while.

Hi Cougar,
THanks for taking the time to do it.
I have waited 4 years to get this far with the Lloyd's another day will not matter.

Hi Cougar,
Thanks a million for your efforts, it must have taken you hours.
If I can return the favour in any way just ask.
Dasher
-
Hi Cougar,
Just a thought, perhaps they stayed with relatives to save on the cost of marrying outside their own Parish.
Because all the other census returns show them in St Clement Danes.

Hi Cougar,
Thanks again for all the trouble and effort you are going to.
It is frustrating to see all the right surnames but the wrong christian names.
Well nobody said it was easy.
Thanks again.

Hi Cougar,
At the risk of repeating myself I will say once again thankyou for the use of your time and the effort that has gone into this.
I am seriously beginning to think the answer lies in Holborn for the Lloyd's and St Clement Danes for the Jones.

Hi Cougar,
The Richard Jones on your list could be the right one.
Aged 40.
I really don't know how to progress it from there.
I suppose the parish church could through up a baptism for Margaret but it is such a common name.
Thanks once again I really appreciate it.

If you go to the IGI
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true
Put in Margaret Jones
enter Richard Jones for father - look for birth/christening.
age + - 10 yrs 1810 - there is a Margaret Jones born 1814.
I have worked on the assumption she is around 20 age at marriage.
You could order in this film and check it out. Reference numbers at bottom of the lookup IGI page. This is certainly cheaper than ordering certs. that turn out to be wrong ones.
Cougar
-
Hi Cougar,
I have never ordered a film from the L.D.S. What is the procedure. Do you ring them up at the local branch ordered it and then they inform you when it it is available.
Is Bethnal Green in the same area.
Dasher

Hi Dasher,
You need to possibly go to your nearest Mormon History Centre (don't know where you are, but there should be one nearby - if not ring the nearest one - there is a list on the IGI site of their centres around the world).
Here in Oz it costs $6.00 for the film to be sent so that you can view it - the centre has the machines there and they ring you when it arrives - usually around 6 weeks unless they already have it - depends on what you are needing.
What you will need are the details on the bottom of the IGI search you do - ie the batch number, film number etc - probably easiest to print off a copy of the search which will give all the details you will need.
If you need more help - send me pm.

Hi Dasher/Cougar. Long time after your conversations but if you are still interested, my relatives lived in and around this tiny area of Waterloo (except at that time it wasn't called that as the Station had not been built). If I can help with locating any street names, happy to help. My rleatives were in Harlington St in 1841 : the whole area was demolished for Waterloo Station BUT i visited the House od Commons Archive and dug up the info relating to the build and the plans of the area before demolition.
