There is a group of RUNDLE's arriving 14 Dec 1863 aboard the SIR JOHN LAWRENCE
RUNDLE James (2), Henry, Jane, John, Lydia and William
From memory I don't think you are in SA. Let me know if you want me to take a look at the passenger list when I am town.
Cheers Kris :)

Kris
I have Jane as a Widow marrying in SA to Charles Lee at Bald Hills so thanks for that.
I found James death I believe in Bald Hills and one birth in South Australia for a Richard
I was back tracking from Mrs Charles Lee to find my immediate connection to Mary Westlake (nee Ellis). Her sister Mrs Charles Lee is mentioned in the obiturary.
Is it possible to see if there is a Baptism for Mary ? I think I have her marriage in 1857 just before she emmigrated.
Ps I am in SA so thanks for the offer to look up passenger list, you do so much else for me, I will follow up next in the Libary.

I know you looked up this marriage for me last year but wondered if it had any details of whom Nicholas father ...
I have been looking at 1851 census with Nicholas Ellis (cousin boy) at Great Burrow, and found an entry below with a Grace Ellis a widow with her daughter Alice Phear. with granddaughters Honor 12 and Susan 9
. with Nicholas Ellis (10) the cousin boy... I have found a William Phear aged 14... so then on 1841 Census I have
a Richard Phair, wife Allis, son William, dau Honor and a Grace Ellis 65 at Prewley,Sourton Devon... so I have been trying to back track to see Alice and Nicholas are brother and sister.... (Richard burial is recorded in June 1841....
Apparantly there is a William and Grace Ellis (Ellice) with baptism around the era
Given that Nicholas and Joanna daughter was Mary Lovell Guest Ellis, I wondered if there is any way of finding whether either Nicholas mother was a Grace Lovell or Joanna's mother was a lovell...

Sorry Cheran,
Fathers are not recorded at marriage until civil registration began in July 1837. Witness names may help. You could apply for a copy from the records office.
I can see that Richard PHARE = Alice ELLIS in Sourton 8 Apr 1835
It may pay you to request printouts for some of these ELLIS's and like. As with this request, most of what I can see for William and Grace is ELISE/ELLISE/ELLISSE rather than ELLIS
Note: I think Grace is Grace PALMER so don't think she is the LOVELL connection. Young Nicholas is in the home of Nicholas PALMER in 1851.
Cheers Kris :)

Cheran,
This might be your LOVELL connection

Thanks Kris.... Lots of Palmers in Bratton Clovelly as well!!!!
Ellise/Elise does seem to come up more often than not.
Sorry to sound a little silly, after all the searches but how do you go about requesting Printouts from the record office.
I should know I am sure but I ahaven't been down this path before...

In Mary Lovell Guest Westlake nee Ellis Eulogy there is a reference to Aunt....
Ann Arthur Guest who married a Rev James Brooks... I can't locate any reference to them in South Australia.. wondered if there is a Bapt for Ann....
(it seems Mary had joined the Church at age 15 under the ministry of a Samuel Crocker and Mary's mother home was often a place for Ministers visiting the Bratton Clovelly area... Joanna died I think when Mary was about 13 though)

Hi Cheran,
Here is the copying service
http://www.plymouth.gov.uk/homepage/creativityandculture/archives/ourservices/archiveshop.htm
Seems that the baptism indexes start at 1813 with the FH Society
http://www.devonfhs.org.uk/shop/product_list.php?cat_id=4
I don't have much time at mo. These booklets will not be of help with Nicholas I am afraid as the coverage is after 1813. It might pay you to look at hiring the films into your local LDS FH Centre. It is not expensive and they keep the films for about a month giving you plenty of time to get in to view them.
Cheers Kris :)
