Hello Matty

Hello Smiffy,
I am very interested in corresponding with you. I believe you are referring to the 26 March 1857 marriage of my great-grandparents, Elizabeth Mills and John Richardson, parents Edward Mills and David Richardson. As you stated, this marriage was witnessed by Hugh McKinley and Andrew McNutt.
Elizabeth and John Richardson emigrated from Londonderry, arriving 14 May 1857 in Philadelphia. A person named Bell Richardson is listed on the passenger list with them. They went first to New Castle, Delaware where they lived until the late 1870s, moving to Philadelphia. PA. Their deaths are recorded in Philadelphia, John in 1904, Elizabeth in 1906.
I am descended from Ada Grace Richardson, the youngest child of Elizabeth and John Richardson. Currently, I am reading though the microfilmed Dunfanaghy Petty Session records and transcribing information for all Mills, Richardson, Andrew/Andy McNutt, and Hugh McKinley references.

Hi,
Elizabeth Mills is my GG Aunt, I guessed they emigrated but I didn't know where to.
Her brother Robert settled in Newcastle, Delaware.
My GG Grandfather, John Mills moved to Scotland.
I have a lot of info on the Mills families.

I am looking for an ancestors of Robert Richardson, born 1857, possibly in Scotland. He immigrated to South Africa in possibly late 1870's. He married Charlotte Jane Horton in South Africa and his daughter, Helen Louise was my Grandmother. I would appreciate any information anyone may have on this illusive ancestor of mine. Hi Dale,
As you can see my Richardson's came from Ireland sorry
-
Hello Matty
Thank you for your reply re Richardson. I am using Scotland as the place of birth because that's what a cousin of mine told me - if could be anywhere in the UK. I have photographs of Robert Richardson's parents and on the back is advertising the fact that the photos were taken in a studio in Liverpool! I see you have the name Crompton, in your reply. Isaac Crompton is also an ancestor of mine - great grandfather too. It is said he was born in Bolton, UK. The only photo I have of him though was taken at my grandfathers wedding. The two illusive gents are an inigma to me!
Regards
Dale

Hi Dale,
I don't have an Isaac Crompton in my tree but I do know that the Surname Crompton was popular in Lancashire. Do you have a year of birth for Isaac?
Sorry the Richardson family I am searching for were living in Ireland around the late 1700's to early 1800's
-
Hello Matty
Thanks again. Yes, Isaac Crompton was born in 1857, no day or month available though.
