Thanks for that Sharon. Since I posted my request I've had access to 1851 Census. Also can't find him. My Prescotts are a very elusive family.
Regards,
Bob.

The only record I can find for Edward PRESCOTT in Reading is a death in 1859:

1859, Sept Quarter - Reading Vol 2c Page 219.

Thanks Harry,
Don't know if he was my Edward. My GGM Eliza Prescott was married in 1863. Her father's name was given as Edward Prescott, Bootmaker. Most of the certifcates I have got indicate if the Father was deceased. The Prescotts were from Ireland. Haven't been able to trace them there yet.
Regards,
Bob.

Hi Alli,
Thanks for the burial record. Don't know if he would be my Edward. His daughter Eliza, my GGM was married in Reading 1863. She gave her Father as Edward, Bootmaker, but didn't indicate if he was deceased. All I know about them so far is that Eliza was born in either Boston Lincs (1881 Census) or Ireland (1891).   Haven't been able to trace them in either location. or 1851/1861 Census.
Bob.

Bob,

Can you post full details of what you do know - Eliza married name, Husband, all dates of birth etc   It might give us more of a chance of finding her in previous censuses and therefore her father.

Hi Harry, Sorry for delay in replying.
Unfortunately what I've posted is practically all the info I have.
She married my GGF Charles Roberts, 10/3/1863. Christ Church, Whitley, St Giles, Reading. Berks. Age 21. Domestic Servant in Spring Gardens. Father's Name, Edward. BootMaker.
She was born in Ireland around 1842-44, probably Dublin. Died Sept 1898 in Staines, Middx.
Before 1863 she is a complete mystery.
Regards,
Bob.
