I'm trying to find more information on the couple Robert Scarth MUIR & Barbara SCOTT.
I know of at least 2 children:
1 Mary Drever MUIR bc 14 May 1863. Kirkwall
2. Elizabeth Scott MUIR bc 21 June 1865.Kirkwall
Mary Drever Muir married on 11 June 1885 in Sydney, Australia, a Robert Muir Morgan (b 3 April 1853, Kirkwall, Orkney). Mary Morgan died in Redfern, Sydney 10 May 1940.
I'd be thrilled to learn more about this family in Orkney. I've traced Robert Muir Morgan's ancestors back to Thurso but am having difficulty sorting out the Muir line.

there is a marriage in burntisland, fife on 11/8/1860 for robert s muir aged 34 mill street, kirkwall wheelwright to barbara scott, 28, widow, high st, burntisland fife
his parents were john muir miller deceased and barbara muir ( not related )
her parents were john scott master mariner burntisland and elizabeth harvey
witnesses were john ferney inland revenue and thomas drever joiner
so could be orkney connections on both sides as drever and harvey are quite common names in orkney

1851 he is in Kirkwall a Cartwright employing 3 men and Mother Barbara is the Head of Family.

there is also a marriage for john scott and elizabeth harvey 15/4/1830 kirkwall ( igi )
elizabeth harvey died 1891 edinburgh aged 82 her parents were george harvey and mary muir

I did discover that Elizabeth Scott Muir & Barabara Muir were on the same ship as Mary Drever Muir...
The 'Australasian', arrived Sydney 1884.
I'm tracking down the sisters & their families in Australai.
Now I've got lots more to go on!
