Title: Marriage 1879 Newbridge
Post by: ndedross on Thursday 28 April 05 13:46 BST (UK)
I'm seeking the marriage of Bridget Kirwin to James Dedross - most likely in January 1879, in the Newbridge area.

He was stationed at Newbridge in the Hussars. From his army pay records he took a month's furlough in January 1879 - which would fit with the time he most likely married. His wife was born in Tipperary (she claims) and her family was in Waterford in 1872. The family legend says she followed him back from a posting, and his unit did a spell of duty in Waterford in 1878.

She is Catholic and he is Church of England. All 11 children baptized in C of E, she was buried in a Catholic cemetary.

Any help much appreciated.

Nigel

Hi,
The marriage was Dublin South, 1881, Bridget Kirwan not Kirwin.
It's a pain when the spelling is incorrect.
