Hi Everyone
I am looking for the graves of a David Sullivan (1960) and Barbara Sullivan(1970) in Lennoxtown Cemetery. Who would I contact to find out exactly where they are buried? Is it Dunbartonshire Council?
I do not know the area so if some kind person could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.
Kind regards
Diana

Hi Diana,
It's East Dunbartonshire Council you're looking for, see:

Sorry about the big long link!
Lennoxtown Cemetery is also known as Campsie Cemetery.

Hi Anne
What district does Campsie come under?
Diana

It's the same place Diana, so it won't matter if you ask about Campsie or Lennowtown, they'll know where you mean.
Any time I've ever had occasion to contact them, they've been very helpful.

I dont know if this is too old to reply too, But my father was the superintendant at this grave yard for nearly 30 years and knew every single plot and who was buried in them, I also worked there, my father has passed but I can get this information if you still require it, EDC who I now work with would need to speak to individuals who worked there as all records are kept there or they were to some degree, let me know I also know sullivans from the village having been born there myself, im now 47.

Hi Nolocks,
I am not sure if you can help me but. My grans sister was a boarded out farm worker from Lennox Castle. She died on 23 February 1912. The address given was Buchanan Street, Balfron. I have checked with the cemeteries people at Stirling without any luck. Would she be buried in Lennoxtown?

Theres every possibility she may be buried in Lennoxtown as if she were a resident of Lennox Castle thats where most were buried. for more information I would contact east dunbartonshire council cemetaries section and they will look into it as they keep a master copy of all people who were buried in the cemetary.

Thanks, I will do that. Here's hoping!

Hi All,
I am trying to trace my sisters grave. She was cared for in Lennox Castle and died in the early to mid 1970s. Her name was Hilary Thompson and I think she was buried in Campsie cemetery. Nolocks does this name ring a bell?
Many thanks in advance.

This sounds like the family of an old friend whom I am no longer in touch with. John, George and David had a sister Marie who sadly passed away in 1988 and who is also laid to rest at Lennox Castle Cemetery. Their parents were Vine and John Sullivan.
