I have stubbings in my family tree from Gt Wilbraham Cambs. It starts with a Stephen Stubbings who married Ann Rivers. They had a son Joseph who married Elizabeth Woodcock, they had a son Joseph bp 1809 at Gt Wilbrahm he married a Hannah Marsden in 1830 at Chesterton Cambs. Their daughter had an illgitamate daughter Hepzibah Stubbings. Hannah later married a Robert Cobbold and Hepzibah was then named Hepzibah Stubbings Cobbold.
Hope this is of interest

I too am related through that Stubbings family. I am related through Martha Stubbings, (4th Great Grand Mother) your Stephen Stubbings sister . He is my 4th Great-Uncle. I have quite a lot of information about the Stubbings family.

So we are related thats lovely. I haven't a lot of information as my main searches are on the Reynolds family who hepzibah married into, my single name. I have been trying to match the Stubbings family of GT Wilbraham with the Cherryhinton Stubbings but have not so far. If you want to email me at my address it is m.jackson2263@ntlworld.com bye for now

Re Stubbings
I have a Jabez Stubbings of Kirtling in my tree. He married Eliza Starling (my gggm) in 1879.
My ggm (Matilda Starling) was b 1875 prior to the marriage of Jabez and Eliza.
I know nothing of Jabez family or any other siblings of my GGM apart from a sister (Lil?) who married a George Hicks of Dalham.
Can you shed any further light ?

Hello I have looked into your Jabez and Eliza and cannot find any connection as yet but it is possible as kirtling is in Cambridgeshire and my Stubbings came from Gt Wilbraham which isn't far away and Cowlinge is on the Suffolk Border just over from Cambridgeshire. Jabez married late in life he was born abt. 1830/3 in Kirtling and in 1881 he was 48 and Eliza 25 I cannot find them having any children his father was David Stubbing and his mother Harriot. I have Eliza's father as William I do not know who her mother was. Davids father was also a David his father was a Jabez.
Hope this helps

That seems to tie in with what I have. My Ggm (Matilda Starling) was 4 when Jabez and Eliza married.
Jabez was born 9 Jan 1831 in Kirtling
Eliza's father was certainly William
I have Eliza's ancestry in detail back to 1550.
I have a note of Jabez parents being David and Susan, but no other information re DOB, DOM , parents etc.
I was trying to ascertain whether Matilda had any siblings and if they were Starlings or Stubbings. No siblings appear on my tree, but my mother informs me her GM Matilda had a sister who lived in the village of Dalham. I guess I need to look for more Starlings.
I would appreciate it if you can supply and further information regarding the Stubbings mentioned above.
Many thanks

Hi Sheila
I've sent you my e-mail address.
My GGM Matilda Starling married Charley Howe, son of William Howe of Kirtling and an Elizabeth (possibly Pledger).
It's possible that Lillian was my GGM's sister in law rather than her sister, and that my mum's recollections are a bit hazy.
Regards

Hello Lisa
Could we be related? My 4x great grandparents are William Ellis 1759-1833 and Elizabeth Covil 1732-1835 from Ickleton. I'm descended from their 4th son, John Ellis 1793-1873 who married Bridget Bard 1796-1846.
If any of this is familiar perhaps we could exchange info
