Title: Electoral Roll for Levisham
Post by: marleen on Monday 27 June 11 10:02 BST (UK)
Hi,
Wondered if someone could let me know please where I can view Electoral Roll for Levisham for years late 1940's , early 1950's. I'm led to believe a great uncle - Frank Ernest Jones had a village store, maybe Post Office there.  In the area in the next week or so.

Hi

Try to get there on a Tuesday afternoon; the local heritage group meet then and are very helpful.

Click this LINK (http://www.locktonlevisham.btck.co.uk/News) to get to their website.

If you can contact them and let them know that you are going to be there they'll have all their resources out for you to look at. There might be photos, deeds and all sorts.

I've been there - my family left at the turn of the 20th century - and found out loads! :)

MT ;)

Hi,

Thanks for your reply but away at the time of you sending. Will  be visiting the area again soon. Will go and have a look next time.

However I have now looked at electoral register at  the record office Northallerton and Great Uncle Frank and wife Maud were listed at Horseshoe Farm years 1948 1949 1950.

Thanks again for the info.
