Hi, I'm confident the members of RootsChat will be able to help me.
Alfred James Bishop was born in Swyre, Dorset in 1868. He last appears in the censuses in 1891 as a footman for William Gilchrist, Australian Merchant, living at 200 Queens Gate E, London. He is absent from the 1901 and 1911 censuses.
There is a marriage record to either Rosanna Smyth or Annie Alice Thornber in Kensington in Dec 1893. Whether this is the same man is unknown. There are two death records with that name in London in Q3 1924 (Poplar), and Q3,1927 (Kensington).
I'm trying to determine the fact of his possible marriage and where he was in 1901 and 1911. Did he go to Australia possibly.
Thank you in advance if you can help.

Hi,
I think he married Annie Alice and there is a possible baptism for a son
Frederick Alfred Bishop b feb 25 1894 bap mar 1 1894 St. Marks Marylebone Road, Westminster
Parents Alfred and Annie Bishop of 200, Queens Gate
He is possibly living with his Uncle and Aunt in 1901 and 1911.
1901 Rg13/1953 146/10
He is nephew to Levi Clarke born Swyre. A Levi Clark married an emma Bishop 1874 Bridport, I think she was Alfred James' sister.
Sorry, cant find parents.

Thank you immensely for that. Yes, he was the youngest child of 7 Bishop children. No records exist in the family of him.
The sister who immediately preceded him, Eliza was my GGM.
I have most of the Emma/Levi records, although if there are more modern Clarks, they are lost in the general throng.
His sister Mary Ann had no children from two marriages
His sister Emily also moved to London and I have her line traced.
His two brothers William and Henry are next on the to-do list
If you ever need records searched in Toronto, please feel free to contact me, I would like to return the favor.
