Hello
I am trying to find any information regarding Edith Alice Nicolas.
Edith's Aunt was Ada Florence English nee Sage.
When Ada died in 1963 she left Edith the family home, which was in Wellington New Zealand.
Unable to find Edith on any passenger record checked for the surname Nicolas/English/Sage.
Any information received would be appreciated.

Looking at the New Zealand electoral roll (index only) on Ancestry, I can see a listing for Edith Alice NICOLAS at Miramar, Wellington for the years 1963 and 1969.
There is no NZ death record (up to today's date) for a lady of that name though.
* Was Edith Alice noted in the will as being "Miss or Mrs NICOLAS" ?

Thank you for your reply, Edith listed as being a married woman. But it does not say Mrs. Edith Alice Nicolas, just Edith Alice Nicolas.

Were you able to look at the NZ electoral rolls ? (I don't have a sub, so can only view the index).
NICOLAS (that particular spelling) is quite rare in NZ records, but I did notice also residing at Miramar, Wellington in 1963 and 1969 ... a Eugene Robert NICOLAS (also a listing for "Robert Eugene NICOLAS" 1969 -- could be one and the same though ?)
I wonder if this may be the husband of Edith Alice ?
Was Edith Alice born in the UK do you think ? (Can't see a marriage for a NICOLAS to an Edith on FREE BMD ? )

Was the actual address of the property bequeathed to Edith Alice, mentioned in the will ?

Mmm ... I also found this record at Karori Cemetery in Wellington.
NICOLAS - Robert Eugene -- aged 48 years (bc 1925)
Occupation: Fitter's mate
Date of Service: 26 June 1973
Karori Cemetery -- CH ENG 2 (Church of England section)
Plot # 347 B
[Archives NZ at Wellington also hold a probate file for this man.]

Also residing at Miramar, Wellington, in 1963, was a "Rosemary Thora NICOLAS". ???

And listing for Ada Florence English (also just from Index) from 1949 to 1957 was at Miramar.
Would be nice to see if all shown in same street, perhaps even with a house number ???

On the 1969 roll the address was 383 Karaka Bay Road, there are three people listed at the address, Edith, Robert and perhaps a son.

Thank you, to everyone who answered my message.
383 Karaka Bay Road was the address of Ada and Arthur English.
Do not know if Edith is still alive , found her name listed in the will of Ada.
Know nothing about her,so I contacted archives New Zealand, (where I ordered the probate file of Ada) to see if they hold any information, they could not find her on any electoral roll,ships list or naturalisation record.
To look any further they need more information.
