Title: Look-up 1841 census Killeshandra HUGGINS.
Post by: BRETA on Sunday 28 August 11 05:40 BST (UK)
Could you please look in the 1841 Census for Killeshandra, Co Cavan for the family of Blakely Huggins & his wife Ann/Elizabeth nee Pringle.

Their Huggins children; Andrew ( born 1831), Blakeley/Blakely ( born 1832), William, Sarah, Jane Ann ( born 23 Dec 1835), Margaret, Amelia, John, Robert ( born March 1841).

The son Blakely Huggins ( born 1832) is later shown in the Griffith Valuation for 1857 with the townlands of Boley & Killyran in Parish of Templeport.
I think the townland Boley is near the school house, Killeshandra.

Thank you for your time.
God bless,
Sue.

Hi,
Sorry I can't look up the census as requested.  But I am interested in any connection with the Blakely Huggins born c.1832.  He married a Lilly Goodfellow in Templeport in 1855.  I am fairly sure that this Lilly was my g.g. grandmother's sister.  I have also found Blakely & Lilly and 3 children in St Louis in the 1880 census.
I would be interested in any information you might be able to add.
Regards
Mary Farrelly

There are some Huggins buried in the old Killeshandra graveyard, quote:
In memory of John Huggins (Dunaweel) Killeshandra (farmer) who died 4th Feb 1902 aged 60 years, his wife Jane Huggins died 4th Oct 1933, their daughter Mrs Nora (Dora Maria) Dixon died 23rd July 1950 aged 69 years
