I wonder if we have a member on this site with local knowledge of Pontlottyn. I am seeking the whereabouts of Victoria Street, I can find a reference to Victoria Road but not Victoria Street which leads me to presume it no longer exisit. On the 1881 census returns the enumerator had Victoria Street listed next to Merchant Street? I would appreciate help on this

Hello :)
If you look at the 1878 map in enhanced view (and enlarge the screen image using ALT and +), you will see Victoria Street on the map.
http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html?coords=311500,206200
It crosses Merchant St, is parallel with High Street, and in line with the Station.
Kind Regards

Hello Morgan
Thanks for the info; I am helping the poster with her research and thought it better to place a seperate query regarding Victoria Street. Would you know if Victoria Street still exists today?
Regards, Roy

I'm not familiar with the area but it looks as if Station Street is there today.
