Title: Briton Ferry schools
Post by: 19Betty29 on Thursday 13 October 11 13:14 BST (UK)
In the 1881 Census, Thomas Morris, age 16,  states he was a scholar at Peter Tucker Bon__ School. Is there any data available about the school as to dates, street location etc ?  Also the family lived at 27 Ritson St. Is this street still there or has it been replaced with commercial stores ?

Hello 19Betty29  :)

Welcome to Rootschat!

Ritson Street is still there, postcode SA11

Genuki has a list of schools:

1881 for Thomas Morris says "Pupil Teacher Board School"

Giant's Grave Board School opened 1875 and Neath Road, Briton Ferry opened in 1876. The second school is nearest to Ritson Street. Records are available at West Glamorgan Archives.

Kind Regards
Morgan
