There is a Louis Bleasdale age 18 in Cleveland Ohio in 1910 it says born at sea??? and I can't view the actual page to see further details. But it says mother born Wales and father born Ohio. Various males and females in household age 18 to 38. says Cleveland ward 10 (I assume this is an area on the census)
In 1920 Crawford Pennsylvania there is a Louis Blaisdale age 27 and wife Nora 25 although he now states he was born in pennsylvania.
can a kind person please have a look at these for me ;D
thanks

Hello,
Appear to be same person. In WWII draft registration his wife is Norah and he works General Electric (electrical work 1910 and office work 1920 threw me a bit). States born Cleveland 8 Aug 1891. Name shown as John Lewis (not Louis) Bleasdale.
This should help sort things out... will look for other occurrences.
Edit: Look for John Bleasdale in Cleveland in 1900 census shows a son "Louis" born August 1891; John is a widower.

Yes it is sometimes spelt Louis sometimes Lewis and sometimes as John L just to confuse us all. I have him in Meadville Pennsylvania in 1930 with wife and 4 kids.
was very interested to know what the details of 1910 census were especially the address.
The story is on another Bleasdale thread but basically Louis' father is supposed to have abandoned him in an orphanage in grief after his wife and other children died in 1899. However as you found he still has him in 1900, the father then remarries in 1902 and moves to another town changes his name and only comes looking fo his son nearly 50yrs later.
have discovered loads of family still living in the town around the time of the dads departure so not sure why no-one took him in

and I went back and looked at other censuses and realised it says Mother to how many children so presumably the dads didn't have to state whether they had any :( thats a shame
