Post by: terry1949 on Tuesday 01 November 11 09:20 GMT (UK)

Born in England in 1917 and went to Durban in 1919 with his father Henry John and mother Lena and died around 1980. Long lost brother of my late mother. Any links?

Thanks for that Harry - I have located his grave marker from that. He is in Stellawood Cemetery. I was hoping perhaps to get a contact at the cemetery whereby I might be able to verify his wife's or childrens' names.

Hi Terry

I am not sure if you are looking for the same person, I dont have all the family history but my grandfathers name was Walter William Weymouth. I know he had a sister by the name of Hayler (not sure of the spelling).
He died when I was young so dont know to much about him.

Hi Ryan,

So good to hear from you - I think your grandad is my Mum's brother. She was called Winifred Lena Mahala but was always known as Hala. She never saw Walter again after their mother died and she left S A in 1927. I would love to share much more detail with you. Could we swap emails.

Hi Ryan,

I think if you just put up another post and then click on the green icon to the left we can then chat in private and share emails. It would be great from here in New Zealand to do so. This has been a long search for me.

It is wonderful that you have found members of your family:)... and welcome to Rootschat. Eurekawey be careful about what you post on here as it is searchable through the web and an easy target for identity fraudsters! Make 2 more posts - even saying hello!! - on this thread and the others will be able to contact you privately and you can then exchange email addresses etc. Just click on the green little scrolly thing below the persons name to send a personal message - known as a PM.
Goodluck!
Ruth
