RICHARD CARTER SMITH married MARY WILLIAMSON 24 Nov1825 Campton.
Can any one give me the details of this marriage, particularly the father of Richard Smith.
Thanks

An 1825 marriage entry will not contain fathers' names, just the names of the witnesses and the parishes of residence at the time of the marriage if not otp. There's no transcript of Campton PR post 1812, nor is Campton post 1812 extracted into either the IGI or BVRI. You either need to order and view the microfilm from your nearest LDS Family History Centre, or visit Bedford Archives

I should have remembered that I wouldn't get the father's name. His siblings married post 1837 and the information is there. I just wanted more confirmation that I had the right man.
Thanks for the information re the Campton PR post 1812.

Thanks for going to the trouble of looking all that up. It was over three years ago I posted the query and have since acquired a lot of information about their children. The family is very well connected and there is a lot about them online.

Thanks for your thanks, but I'd already found them when I came across your query. I was working backwards from Edward Atkinson, who died 100 years ago - my great-grandfather succeeded him at Clare - who married Frances Hester Smith in 1856.
Among the "lot about them online" I found that her cousin, daughter of bird artist Christopher Webb Smith, is the heroine (if that's the right word) of a recent novel, "The Sealed Letter" by Emma Donoghue.
Is there a connection between Frances's families and the William Webb (b Sutton Coldfield 1775, d 1856) who was Atkinson's predecessor? Her father's family (e.g. Christopher Webb Smith) have the Webb name, and her mother's a connection with Sutton Coldfield - her mother's brother was rector there, and her mother's parents married there in 1793.
