Hello,
I'm interested in the above family name. I believe an Isaac Stealey moved down to the Cardiganshire area in the 1820s or 1830s from Flintshire. I am descended from the Flintshire Stealeys and have just started researching the ones that got away!
Cheers
James

HI
1841 census
1413/ 7/4 / 1
Well street hollywell
Stealey
John b 1796 grocer
Elizabeth b 1796
Issac b 1821 tanner
Robert b 1831

All born county
I note that Maria given as daughter to Isaac in 1851 census looks like it his sister.
I assume you can see elizabeth the mother with John b 1835 still in Hollywell on 1851 census and Joh the husband has died.
Do hope this is of some help

I realise that this is a very old post so perhaps all in vain. i am interested in Isaac Stealey (father of Maria) - he is my grandfather's grandfather - I am descended from Isaac by his second wife; whereas Maria was the daughter of his first wife. Kind regards

A bond for Elizabeth Stealey who is Isaacs wife.
Another Stealey from the same district. These are the only two found.

There might be some in the Marriage Bonds on the same NLW site
