Title: Peebles Kirk Session Records?
Post by: SK4SK on Wednesday 11 January 12 22:15 GMT (UK)
Hi.  Does anyone currently have access to the Peebles Kirk Session Records of the 1790s?   I need to take a look at these and thought I'd check here first before ordering them in.   Many thanks

Hi Siroli,

Such a shame I was in NAS yesterday! I will be there again next week though, if you give me what you’re looking for I could do a quick search for you.

You mentioned “ordering them in”, you don’t actually have to anymore. Almost all Kirk session material is on the Virtual Volumes system in the NAS. Because it’s digitised it has also been made available in other locations too. The Hawick Heritage Hub has access for example: http://www.heartofhawick.co.uk/heritagehub/ I’m not sure about all the locations but I know there is a project to make them available so it’s worth checking the larger archives throughout Scotland. I’ll try and find out where they are available.

Let me know who you’re looking for, I should be there Monday.

Emma
