Are these two men the same person, do you think?

Yes I agree, but is it possible this came with age ?? Their eyes and eyebrows are so very similar, also the neck and jawline. Wonder if they are closely related because their mouths also appear different.

I think we dated the younger man as late 1860s/early 1870s on the other thread.

Not enough info to date the second photo, which might help in deciding whether it could be or not.

Thank you for the thoughts so far.
The second photo is c.1912 when, if it is the same man, he would be aged about 67 in this photograph.
